First tutorial in our series will be the basic tutorial of sticking little gems or small stickers onto your Hearing Aids or Cochlear Implants.
When adding things on to your Hearing Aids or Cochlear Implant’s the area needs to be clean, dry and free from dirt.
When using Gem’s or stickers please only use the self adhesive ones! Do not use glue as this can damage the hearing aid or cochlear implant!
1. Remove the battery, tubes and ear mould from your hearing aid or cochlear implant. If you have 2 to do I tend to do one at a time, this makes it easier and less likely to get moulds mixed up to which one they go on. (Yes I have done this)
2. Wipe over the area, I use a baby wipe, and then dry with a tissue to make sure the area is dry. When doing this make sure the battery compartment is closed, so no moisture can enter inside.
3. Decide where you would like to put your gem’s or stickers and checking that you have them on the right (outside) side of the hearing aid or cochlear implant, remove from the backing and place on to the hearing aid or cochlear implant.
Ta daaaa! Your first pimping is done!
